Year 5 have been researching the topic of Freedom. They have been thinking about people around the world how very different Freedom is to us all. It got us thinking… What do we want for the next generation? What in the world would we like to change? What would we like to change in our own lives? How could we make the world a better place to live in? These questions helped us to realise our dreams for the future! What is your dream?
I have a dream that people will be treated equally. Not because of their looks. No one to be starving either poor, unnoticed, nor any crooks.
Everybody to be friends and be kind.Nobody has wars,Everybody has the same amount of luck,You see what money can cause!
Global warming history,Tomorrow a brand new day,Everybody delighted,In every single way!
BY ANNA SEIFU 5SK
I dream that all the wars would end forever
That all of the world could be at peace
That children in poorer countries have food and water
That children all over the world have a right to learn
That racism could have an end
That I could be a singer and raise money for charity

During this term in set maths i have learnt a lot and have found a few things that I found quite confusing but got the hang of it in the end.We did the mean , median and the mode. They are quite strange words but there basically different types of averages. We also did translations (Not the language translation)they’re a bit like Coordinates. To help us with translations we played a game and from the that i understood translations. And finally adding fractions, without Mr woods method i couldnt have been able to add fractions with different denominaters .And now i like fractions and find them easy to workout. If your good at fractions try and work out the sum below
Year 5,don’t forget to use your lyric sheets which you took home to learn this song! Think about the meaning behind the words and the ultimate message ‘ Don’t let your lives go to waste’. Pass the message on to family and friends…maybe you could get them to join in too!
This is another song which we are learning in relation to our topic of ‘Freedom’.
Year 5 are learning different songs and analysing song lyrics and content as part of their topc work on ‘What is Freedom?’
Please share this song with parents/carers/family and friends, thinking about the song meaning in the context of Freedom.
We look forward to listening to your points of view and discussions and can’t wait until Year 5 perform this one! You are indeed a very musical Year group! Enjoy!
A star is a massive, luminous ball of plasma that is held together by gravity. The nearest star to earth is the sun, which is the source of most of the energy on Earth. Other stars are visible in the night sky, when they are not outshone by the Sun.

Before we begin looking at this we shall be discussing and researching life in Africa and finding out about the customs, skills and qualities the indigenous people had already established before the Europeans began to trade with the Americas.
