For our homework, we have made a medusa cake , filled with deliciousness and dedication. We didn’t want any help from adults and we didn’t get any, our homework was made entirely from us. In it, was flour, butter, sugar, eggs, backing powder, icing sugar & strawberry pencils, and a pinch of giddiness 😝👭
A huge congratulations to the children who were part of the Chorlton Arts Festival, Chorlton High School performance of Julius Caesar on Monday evening. we have been watching the lifecycle of a butterfly in 5JD for the last 4-5 weeks. When the caterpillars arrived they were tiny, about 5mm. They then grew bigger and bigger before we watched them turn into a chrysalis. After 6-10 days the butterflies began to emerge. Today we released them into the park.
I made a lead axe and pickaxe by cutting and hammering lead, then attaching it to the wood. Then I put patterns on the axe. I used a saw to chop a tree branch off and peel the bark off it, this is called whittling.
Last week, Miss Davies tweeted Benjamin Zephaniah, and he tweeted us back! How cool!
We’ve been looking at poetry by Benjamin Zephaniah this week. We’ve focused particularly on Talking Turkeys, De rong song and Dis poetry. Today the children have written some of their own poems.

In 5JD, we did some acting in 5 groups, to retell the play of the story Julius Caesar for Shakespeare week. Everyone in Rome was celebrating the success of Julius Caesar, for he had defeated his rival Pompey. A soothsayer(or a fortune teller) warned Julius Caesar to beware of my ides of March – the […]
We have been learning about Triangular trade due to our topic about slavery.😀 The triangular trade is related to Europe, Africa and the Americas. The Americas is the Carrabean and America, but saying the Americas was easier to say. The triangular trade is when Europe gave goods to West Africa and in return, they gave slaves. […]
